Causes of Cellulite:

Many treatments and products are present in the market that promise to get rid of or reduce the cellulite on your buttocks and thighs significantly. However, there is no evidence showing the permanent effects of such treatments and medications.

There are however a few treatments and products that you can try to effectively deal with cellulite:

Liposuction

This is a very popular surgical procedure for removing fat deposits from your body. But it does not remove cellulite, but removes deep fat which is just below your skin. But be informed that according to The American Academy of Dermatology, liposuction might actually make the cellulite in your body appear worse by making more depressions in your skin.

Cellulite creams

Cellulite creams claim to smoothen the skin and dissolve the fat. However, most of these creams contain aminophylline which is actually a prescription drug that is approved for the treatment of asthma. This ingredient can cause allergies. Also, there is no scientific proof whatsoever regarding the effectiveness of these creams and they may, in fact, harm you. Apparently, they may be making the blood vessels low and might be forcing water through the skin to reduce cellulite, which can prove to be dangerous for those who are suffering from circulatory problems.

Mesotherapy

This treatment was developed originally in Europe for relieving the pain caused by inflammatory skin conditions. This therapy involves the injection of substances like minerals, vitamins, amino acids, and enzymes inside the tissue just below the skin. This therapy may break the fat down and improve the appearance of cellulite slightly. But be informed that there is a risk of infection, irregular contours, and swelling.

Laser treatment

The FDA has allowed the treatment of cellulite by using a laser device. The manufacturer states that the laser device melts the fat beneath the skin to break up the fibrous bands and stimulate the production of collagen.

Spa Treatments and Massage

These therapies do not remove cellulite in any way, but temporarily improve the appearance of cellulite. Any effect gained through these treatments is short-lived.

Preventing Cellulite

If you still don’t have cellulite, you can prevent it by following a healthy fat-free or low-fat diet. Eat fresh vegetables and fruits and exercise daily. Avoid being over-weight and follow a healthy and active lifestyle.
